3. During this module, I primarily utilized some articles that resonated well with my creativity module topic. For example, I read a few articles that helped me to learn more about Emerson Romero (inventor of closed captioning) and how his enhancement largely increased digital accessibility. Emerson Romero was the first person to create closed captioning, which allowed digital content to become more accessible for millions of people who are a part of the deaf community. His innovative idea to include captions into his film birthed the notion of including closed captioning into digital content as a way to globally increase accessibility and comprehension. His creation impacted our world in an optimal way, both digitally and comprehensively. Furthermore, I also utilized a website that went into detail about closed captioning and its benefits. Additionally, I also used a video platform called Vimeo to construct and create a video about digital accessibility. Vimeo gives users the opportunity to create a video that you would like to make. One could create videos in Vimeo for recreational, educational, and other purposes. I decided to create an educational video about digital accessibility as a way to inform my peers about this topic in an interesting way.

4. I am proud of the realization that I learned more about digital accessibility and closed captioning overall. I was able to obtain more information about the importance of closed captioning by doing research on this topic. Before this module, I didn’t think too deeply about digital accessibility or about the history of closed captioning. Whenever captions would appear in videos or films, I would utilize them and understand that they were resourceful, but I wasn’t exactly aware of why they were created or how many people were beneficially impacted due to this digital enhancement. Now, I have gained an understanding of how important closed captioning is and how lucky we are to have a resource such as closed captioning. I am also happy that I created a video about digital accessibility. I didn’t use Vimeo to create a video prior to this project, so I was pleased and intrigued about learning how to navigate through the video platform, creating/editing a video, and incorporating the content that I wanted to input into the video.
